It may not surprise you but when it comes to car games one of the most popular demographics for these games are teens ages 13 – 15, but what is interesting is that when you compare it to other game cateogires this age group is the most dedicated group of games who constantly play car games. The reason its not really that much of a surprise is because teens in that age range know that their 16th birthday is coming soon and as a result they are becoming more and more interested in cars and everything about them.
But one reader sent us some fan mail the other day and said something interesting, he claimed that because he spent so much time playing car games and in particular the car parking games it made him a much better driver and he was able to ace his driving exam. At first I was a bit skeptical but now that I’ve had time to think it through it makes perfect sense that those car parking games would enhance his driving skills.
I mean sure you can’t fully replicate the driving experience just with your keyboard arrow keys but you can get a general idea of what it takes to drive, how much you need to steer, and how careful one must be when parking in a narrow spot or dealing with traffic. If you’re a student driver you really can’t, or at least shouldn’t be trying to emulate that on a real world and many drivers ed courses still lack the proper 3d driver experience due to the high cost of implementing such as system.
Now I don’t want everyone to think that just because they can beat the clock on a parking game without crashing into the other cars in an online game that they will suddenly be as skilled as a nascar driver but this extra practice can do nothing but help you in the long run. If you’ve used car driving games to help you become a better driver we’d love to hear from you about your experience and how you think it may have helped you pass your divers exam and if you have any other tips of new and young drivers.
